Design Build Studio Class Students designed and built an affordable, energy efficient house. Upper limit for "affordable" by Department of Housing is $200,000. This house cost $300,000. To qualify for an arffordable housing grant, calculations were presented to show that the energy efficient house would save enough monthly energy expenses to make the mortgage of the house + energy bills the same as it would cost for a $200,000 house. |
